This project examines transgender student experiences at gender-selective and historically women's colleges with transgender inclusive admission policies.

My research agenda centers on identifying and overcoming structural barriers in accessing and persisting within institutions and communities, especially for women, LGBTQ+ students and students of color. Particularly, I examine how institutions and communities commit to ameliorating inequality through inclusive policies and practices, and how exclusion may still be reproduced for marginalized groups. As such, I explore this through multiple current lines of research.

My research is supported by both internal and external funding, including the Virginia Tech Graduate Research Development Program, National Science Foundation, and the National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowship.
