My research agenda centers on identifying and overcoming structural barriers in accessing and persisting within institutions and communities, especially for women, LGBTQ+ people, and people of color. Particularly, I examine how institutions and communities commit to ameliorating inequality through inclusive policies and practices, and how exclusion may still be reproduced for marginalized groups. As such, I explore this through multiple current lines of research.
My research is supported by both internal and external funding, including the National Science Foundation, National Academy of Education, Spencer Foundation, and American Council on Learned Societies.
